Raw materials are taken over and hackled in special Take-Over-Station.
After that it is transported over a screw for sanitation. Sanitation consists of two units
of 5 m³. The units are equipped with agitators in order to achieve
a homogenizing heating up and to avoid
local burn ups. Food leftovers are heated up
to 75°C (possible heat up to 90°C).
After sanitation leftovers
are pumped into Hydrolyse Basin. From there they
are brought either to other
plants or transported into the own Prefermenter.
Grass, industrial offall
and maize silage are firstly crunched
and directly transported to prefermenter. Manure and sewage sludge are directly
pumped from storage tanks to prefermenter.
In prefermenter (150m³) materials
are mixed. Preferably it should be always
an alike mixture. In prefermenter substrate is heated up
to 50°C (termophile zone). Oxygen is used up by
aerobe bacteria and anaerobe process
starts.
From prefermenter substrate is taken out daily and fresh substrate is added in the
same amount. It serves as a cache
buffer before the main fermenter,
differences in consistence
and within the biological process can be controlled
more easily in prefermenter then in main fermenter. Duration time is approx. 4 days.
Along pumping device substrate is brought into
main fermenter.
One main fermenter will be filled up within
a 10 days period. Within this time gas production is starting slowly and reaches its maximum at the end. Fermentation process
will take approx. 15 days. Within this time gasing reaches up to
95 %. Within this period the substrate
is technically homogenized. After that substrate will sit for approx. 5 days, this is
called sedimentation
phase. Within this time light substance will swim up and biomass
will sink down. In between is
a water layer.
By emtying of fermenter first the water will be let out for
natural and/or chemical clarification.
After this sink layers
will be screwed out for dry sedementation into the end-fermenter (dry-fermenter). Whilst first fermenter is within sedimentation and emptying phase, second fermenter is within gas production phase.
Within dry-fermenter substrate is dried up and fully outgased. Product shall have a DS of 80 -87 %.
